🌟 Our Lady of Fatima: Beginning May 13, 1917, the apparition of Our Lady appeared to three children in Fatima, Portugal. Lucia was 9 years old, and her cousins, Francisco and Jacinta, were 8 and 6 years old. When she appeared, Mary wore a white veil trimmed in gold. She told the children that she came from Heaven, and she asked them to say the Rosary every day and devote themselves to the Holy Trinity. Specifically, she asked the children to pray the rosary for an end to World War I and the conversion of Russia.Â
Mary revealed three secrets to the children, but her central message was one of repentance, penance, and conversion. After the deaths of Francisco (1919) and Jacinta (1920), Lucia revealed the first secret, a vision of hell. The second secret was revealing to the children that World War I would end, but a second World War would soon begin. She asked for Russia to be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart. The third secret foretold the attempt to assassinate St. Pope John Paul II in 1981.
On the day of her last apparition, Our Lady told the children that she would reveal the apparitions to be true. That day, during the apparition, over 70,000 people saw the sun inexplicably dance through the sky. We celebrate her feast on May 13th.
