Earrings - Our Lady of La Leche

Our Lady of La Leche is one of the oldest Marian devotions.

Associated with a statue depicting Mary breastfeeding the infant Jesus, this devotion symbolizes maternal care and nurturing. Originating during the Roman Empire, Christians first depicted this tender image in the Roman Catacombs, a sacred space for worship. Widely cherished by Spanish Catholics in the early modern era, the devotion was brought to the New World, where it has provided solace especially to mothers experiencing challenges with breastfeeding.
