Paint with me! We're honoring Our Lady of Fatima since we just celebrated the Miracle of the Sun.
The Miracle of the Sun that took place in Fatima, Portugal, on October 13, 1917.
Three young shepherd children, Lucia dos Santos and her cousins Francisco and Jacinta Marto, claimed that the Virgin Mary appeared to them multiple times. During the final apparition, known as the Miracle of the Sun, thousands of people gathered, expecting a sign.
As the crowd looked on, the sun seemed to dance in the sky, swirling and radiating vivid colors. It appeared to plummet towards the Earth, causing some to fear the end of the world. Then, just as quickly, the sun returned to its normal position.
I find inspiration in the intensity of faith that drove these people to witness and believe in such a miraculous event. The Miracle of the Sun is often interpreted as a confirmation of the authenticity of the apparitions and a call to faith and repentance.
